Installing and Starting PhotoCenter Home

You can download PhotoCenter Home from your retailer's website, or pick up a CD from your retailer's photo lab. PhotoCenter Home runs only on Windows 2000, XP Home, and XP Pro and requires 128 MB RAM.

Installing PhotoCenter Home
If you are downloading from your retailer's website, locate the PhotoCenter Home download link, and save it to a location on your computer. After you download the application installation file, double-click SetupPhotoCenterXXX.exe (where XXX is the current version number) in Windows Explorer to begin installation.

If you are installing from a CD, insert the CD into your computer’s CD-ROM drive. The installation opens automatically. If not, open the Windows Start menu, select Run and then browse to the CD-ROM. Double-click SetupPhotoCenter.exe to begin installation.

Follow the prompts until you get to the directory selection screen. Click Next to install the files to the default directory. You can change the location where your files load on your local machine if, for example, you do not have enough space on your C: drive.

After the files are installed, the system may prompt you to restart your machine. This happens when the installer cannot access one or more of the application files because they are in use by Windows or other applications. If this is the case, we recommend you select “Yes” to restart before proceeding to run PhotoCenter Home. Click the Finish button to complete the installation.

Starting PhotoCenter Home
From the Start menu, select All Programs, PhotoCenter and then PhotoCenter, or double-click the PhotoCenter icon, which was placed on your desktop during installation.

Note: To send photos to your store's photo lab, you must be connected to the Internet. If you are using a dial-up connection, you must start your dial-up connection before sending photos to your lab. If you have an “always on” connection to the Internet, you do not have to do anything to send photos to your lab.
